On May 1, 2017, Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation held its annual “Swing for the Cure” at Sweetwater Country Club, where 25 teams took to the green to raise $38,000 for breast cancer research and awareness.
The gorgeous day began with a shotgun start to the 18 holes and a putting contest sponsored by EliteCare Emergency Center – Rice Village. There were exciting contests along the way, like the longest drive, closest to the pin and the chance to win a Ford F-150 courtesy of Mac Haik Ford with a hole in one.
Fidelity National Title Company took home first place in the tournament, and an awards ceremony dinner with door prizes and raffle items, including a Scotty Cameron Putter, a Sun Mountain Super Golf Bag and an autographed baseball glove and baseball donated by the Roger Clemens Foundation.
Washington Ho, owner of the tournament’s title sponsor Voltstreet Energy Advisors, made a moving speech in appreciation of his friendship with Debbie Fontenot, and kept the fun rolling by auctioning off a Roger Clemens autographed baseball and glove for $2,200.
In the crowd: Kory Clemens, Debbie Fontenot, Dane Gates, Rick Young, Eric Morton, Jeremiah Wedgworth, Washington Ho and more. View all photos from the event.
